A New Beginning

I've left this project for three weeks now to see if it would generate any interest by itself, but now it has pretty much come to a stand still, even my group on facebook hasn't had any new members for about two weeks.
I relise now if i want my prject to gain interest it needs alot of work, i need to put myself out there and try and bring people towards it, and hopefully i'll be able to get the project going again.
I'm going to start by searching for skate spots on youtube that are based in the UK and leave comments asking where the skateparks are located, i'll then let them know about my community map that i have started and try and persuade them to join and add the spot and any others they know.
I will also leave info about the group on facebook if anyone wants to leave me comments or feedback.
Hopefully this will get my project some interest, as it will be advertsing to anyone who reads the comment.

Web 2.0 tools

The Web 2.0 tools i will be using are very important to how succesfull the project is going to be as i will need to get people interested in the project and keep them up to date.
For the main part of the project i will be using is www.mapme.com - this tool is so i can create my community map where people can their favourite spots and upload videos, pictures and also leave comments.
www.facebook.com - Im using this website, firstly because of the number of people using this tool and thought it would be useful to start the community. Secondly i can create dicussion topics and events.
www.blogger.com- As you can see. . . its an online diary for everyone to view my progress on the community map and the project.

www.youtube.com - I use this for an advert to try and get people aware of my project.

Seven Of Spades: Web 2.0

For my Project i'm going to be posting skating spots around my local area (leicester) and any other spots that i have been to in the UK. I'm doing this because i want to provide the knowledge of skate spots i have around leicester and the uk and also want to gain knowledge of other people's favourite skate spots. I know quite a few round Leicester but not all of them so i hope people will do the same. Also feel free to post any pictures and videos of the spots.
This blog is not only for skaters but for longboarders too, i'll will be adding all the best hill's i've been to. In the near future, if i can get enough people to join, i will plan to get a group of longboarders together and have a day out travelling to the best spots in one area.
